[Sailor]

Skybound Watch

The Skybound Watch is the area above the Half Moon Cave, It is an outlook for the Half Moon Folly wolves to watch out over the territory, it being central, they are able to see over all their lands, and keep an eye out for dangers or intruders.

[Sailor]

Sailor sat at the top of the mountain. Sailor, was, is, a wolf of Grey Wolf and Arctic wolf descent. The oldest of a litter of six. The Second litter of his parents, their previous litter birthed a litter of four. There was a year that separated the two litters. Sailor was a pure white, almost silvery coloured wolf with the same hued eyes. He was built mainly for hunting, and endurance running.

Sitting atop the great rock the male looked over the territory. Having a few members of his pack around already, he would've liked to have more around, it would make easier work for patrolling the such large territory, especially now that hunting season for the humans was coming along. The Sabre cats were going to make it hard as well, the two predators competing for food. His ears flicked as he gazed across to two mammoths. The beasts were so large. A Wolf would never dream of bringing one down. The sabre cats however, Sailor had seen them do it.

Stretching his legs out he watched the sunset over the great Mount Anthor, once the sun disappeared behind the mountain it got cold, and quick. Even though it was late spring, the weather here never got all that hot, Hence why Sailor picked this place to make his home. He gave a small yawn and looked out to the pinky orange sky.

[Xanthos]

The brown toned male slowly leaped up the mountain, taking his time with each jump to make sure he got his footing just right. The two year old rolled his eyes, wondering why on earth he was bothering to leap up to where the leader sat looking down on the territory. He should be snoozing under the shade of a tree not wasting his energy with this silly climb. With a huff of air he continued on up.

Nearing the top, where Sailor sat looking out across the landscape, Xanthos called out to the pack Lord, "Why must you sit, where you are so hard to get to?"

With a little puffing, he came to sit beside the silver wolf. Looking over at the view he had to admit, there was something nice about being up there but he wasn't sure he would do it again. It took far too much effort.

[Sailor]

"Why must you sit, where you are so hard to get to?"

Sailor turned and looked back. It was Xanthos. He gave a small chuckle. His ears flicking, as he looked back to the horizon. Sailor curled his tail to his side as he sat back up, giving a small sigh.

"Xan Xan Xan." he started in his thick accent. "Is this not worth the effort? One can see our whole territory from this one place. Perfect spot for scouting my sentry." he gave a shove to the male on his shoulder with another little chuckle. He turned around and started padding off down the hill to the den. He looked at a sunflower as he passed, stopping and studying it, poking his nose into the pollen, as the flower turned and closed slowly.

Sailor moved back with a quick jump and gave a sneeze, the pollen all gathered up in his nostrils. He sat tilting his head and giving a small chuckle. His tail wagging. He was childlike not childish. He looked over to Xanthos. "Are you coming back down to the den Xan? It will be freezing cold up here in a few minutes!" he barked happily as he jumped down a few rocks and headed towards the den.

[Xanthos]

Xanthos raised an eyebrow as the other male repeated his nickname three times. At Sailor's question he shook his head slightly, the view or being able to spot so much of the territory was really not worth the effort it took to get there, in the male's opinion. Though he may have been a scout, he was a lazy one.

The brown sentry gave a sigh as Sailor started to go back down. Did he not get time for a rest?! Dropping his head, his ears hanging limply, Xanthos gave another sigh, a deeper longer one, now that the leader was out of earshot. One thing was for sure, he was not coming up there again unless it was absolutely necessary. He would get someone to howl if anyone up there was needed.

So, standing once more, the male slowly started to make his way down, back to the den.

~To the Half Moon Cave

[Quill]

Quill stared down over the edge of the mountain, eyes fluttering furiously as the wind began to pick up a little. She took in a deep breath and sat down, eyeing every little movement she saw. All that made any movement were the trees and shrubs that were spread out in the land before her.
Quill sighed, thinking about her mother. She missed her terribly.

[Melloette]

Having the breeze on her fur, intensified by the ever shifting landscape, the female let out an exalted breath of relief. She stood on the apex of the tallest boulder she could find and enjoyed the cool feeling of air through her fur for a long period of time.

When she realized that there were better things that she could be doing (like finding out where that pack had gone to), the russet female let out a giggle. "Oh, Melloette, you're such a knuckle-head," intentionally, she spoke a little loud, hoping that the wind might pick up her voice and carry it to rebound back at her, but no such thing happened. Frowning with the let down of this, she shouted out, "Hello!" and was pleased to hear the fading echos come back to her.

Grinning, Melloette bounced, but the swift loss of balance that had her scrabling the short distance to the next boulder was enough to knock some sense into the adventurous wolf. Looking down to where the grasses were, she asked herself how she would get out of such a situation, but then, stopped caring and winged it the whole way down.

Escaping with little more than a twisted ankle, Melloette traversed in the direction of where the scents of the wolves were the most powerful and recent. "Oh, I bet that I'll make lots of friends here! she exclaimed, walking with an unmistakable bounce in her step.

[Quill]

Quill startled at the echoing voice of another wolf. She shook her head when she realized that it was just Melloette, and tried to breathe deeply since her heart wouldn't stop pounding. Once she finally caught sight of Melloette, she was calm. She watched as the wolf make her way down the side of the mountain, and then turned around, deciding she should go back to the cave. She sighed and began padding off toward the pack.
