[Sailor]

DarkWater River

This is a small river that flows between the Merryfair Farm and the Frostflow plains. The farmers of Merryfair farm, built a small bridge so that they could cross, and hunt the animals of frost flow plains. The wolves of the Half Moon Folly have been known to use it as well. Animals of all kind come to the river to get a drink, but the water is always dark and no one knows what lurks beneath...

[Mello]

Mello arrived at the river, keeping a good three feet away from the water's edge. He hated the sound of the water flowing, the memories rushing back. Fear gripped him, but he didn't show it and waited for Luke and Rhapsody.

[Luke]

Slipping through the long grass and into a smooth valley, Luke came to a halt once he caught sight of Mello. Rhap was hanging on by his side, with every step he took she did too. None of the pack-mates had spoken on the way here, but this didn't bother the male.
The cool breeze ruffled Luke's fur as he opened his mouth, tasting and smelling the air for any scent of elk. He latched onto their trail, which logically would lead him downwind.
Taking initiative, the male finally spoke, "we should split up." He twitched his black nose, his face unreadable.

[Mello]

Mello heard Luke as he spoke. He nodded his slender head in agreement. He felt a little bit of anxiety though, he was not used to leading anyone on a hunting trip and being a lone wolf for most of his life he was used to hunting by himself. Except for Never of course, but she usually was the one to lead them both on any hunting trips they had. Mello shoved the thoughts back into the corner of his mind and turned to Rhapsody, wanting to make sure it was alright with her first.

[Rhapsody]

Rhapsody breathed in, taking in the fresh scent the water gave off as she entered the area. She'd perked her ears, waiting for someone to possibly already have a plan in mind, when Luke spoke up. He suggested that they should split up. At that moment, she didn't exactly feel like being apart from Luke, but she also didn't want to disagree with him, and anyway, he was probably right. She hesitated slightly for a brief moment before she spoke. "Alright," she said, nodding with a small smile. She took a few steps forward and flicked her tail slightly, showing the others that she was ready to go.

[Xanthos]

Xanthos knew he was getting close to the three wolves who had gone off together. He let out some barks announcing his presence. Finally coming into view of the others he slid to a stop near them.

"Guys!" he panted, "Humans are comin' this way! Sailor says for everyone to get to the FrostFlow Plains!" The brown male stood their waiting for them to get moving. "Now!" he yelled in an effort to get them going faster.

[Luke]

The tall wolf could tell something was making Rhap uneasy, however he didn't question her. Instead, he began strolling downwind, not yet in a hunting stance. With the fresh scent of elk, he caught the smell of a different creature. One which was familiar, but yet horrifying. Yes yes yes, something negative. Before Luke could identify what these other animals were, he heard the anxious bark of Xanthos.
The young male ordered them to get going, alerting them that there were humans nearby. Wincing, he doubled back and sped up his pace, shooting both Rhap and Mello glances which he tried to make look like a 'we'll hunt later, don't worry' type thing.

[Rhapsody]

Rhapsody sniffed the air the same time Luke did. She could smell something that wasn't quite right, but she didn't know what that something was. Before she enough had time to think, she was startled by Xanthos as he seemed to appear out of no where, letting them know that there was danger about. Rhapsody's mind quickly made the connection of the odd scent and the alert of humans in the area, and quickly became quite alarmed herself. "Oh- Oh my," she sighed fearfully, quickly scanning the area to make sure that these humans weren't going to suddenly appear nearby. The female caught Luke's glance, nodded, and began hurriedly trotting until she caught up to where he was. Even though she could've, Rhapsody didn't decide to run ahead just yet, and waited to make sure that the others were ready to head off to the plains around the same time that she was.

[Mello]

Mello was about to head off in his own direction to search for any prey when an anxious bark reached his ears. He turned around and saw Xathos. At what the other male said about humans, he nodded and looked at Rhapsody and Luke to see how they had reacted. He caught Luke's glance and nodded in his direction and then he turned his gaze to Rhapsody. She seemed to be waiting until everyone was ready before heading off to the plains. Mello decided to stay where he was until someone else decided to lead the four of them.

[Luke]

Luke realised both Mello and Rhap were being hesitant in taking the lead. He picked up the fear all his pack-mates carried, but the male refused to show any and stayed completely calm as he headed onward, towards FrostFlow Plains, guiding the others with quick steps.

It must have been Sailor who ordered Xanthos to get them moving to the plains, but why? It was perhaps the worst place to go if humans were in the area. Why had he not said GreenSpring Hollow? It was covered in far more trees, giving the wolves a bigger advantage on their terrain.
Oh well, he had to trust Sailor. He had too.

[Rhapsody]

Rhapsody took notice of how Luke decided to take the lead, and didn't hesitate to follow him, keeping as close as possible to the male as they hurried along. She'd never encountered humans before, and wondered if any of the members of the pack had encountered people themselves. She shook her head; she hoped that she would never have to end up getting too close to any humans in her lifetime.
Her mind hadn't even drifted to the thought of why Xanthos, and therefore Sailor, had told them to go to the plains while she moved. She chose to trust Sailor, and had confidence that they were going to be okay.

[Mello]

Mello saw that Luke was the one who took the lead and Mello followed him after Rhapsody. He began to wonder as he followed the two, if his decision to join the pack was a good one. Hunters. That wasn't safe. Then again, when was Mello safe? He had heard stories of humans, that they rode on top of animals such as horses sometimes. He had never seen a horse either. Shaking his slender head of those thoughts, he kept on after Luke and Rhapsody.

[Xanthos]

Xanthos stood waiting for the others to go first. He had run there and was still catching his breath, his lazy side disliking the need to run. Slowly he began to follow, his paws moving across the ground one by one. Despite the threat of humans hunting, he didn't move any faster, secure in the thought that they were far enough away that he didn't need to hurry. Humans were not very fast creatures after all. Heading to the meeting spot, the male would make it there eventually.
