The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Empty Re: The Abandoned Shack

Post by Quill Sun Nov 04, 2012 5:05 am

As Melloette rushed in, Quill lifted her paw and took a step back, slightly startled. She noticed that the she-wolf was far more afraid than earlier, when the pack had all surrounded her. Quill kept her eyes on the female, making sure her expression was soft and sympathetic instead of serious. She barked,"It's better to be in here, believe me." and gave a half-smile. After this, she turned her eyes back on Blayse, still patiently waiting for him to enter the 'cave'. Her patience was growing thin, but she didn't dare let it show at a time like this. She kept the feel of her eyes soft and understanding.

The Epicyon looked up when she saw the female from earlier - the one that had fallen, she recalled.
"Best come inside," she said, her ears laced on cobwebs, "This place is all bark and no bite. Better than being a pelt."

The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Empty Re: The Abandoned Shack

Post by Xanthos Sun Nov 04, 2012 11:27 am

Xanthos could smell the scent of other wolves, some of which he recognised as his pack mates. Two males were sitting outside of a large wooden object. The male wasn't too sure what it was, not having explored this part of the territory before. Cautiously he approached, his nose picking up the smell of other wolves, yet he could not see them.

Making his way over to Sailor he merely nodded a the other male, not knowing him that well. "They're coming," he said quietly. "What is this thing? Is it safe?"

Blayse looked at the female approach, and lowered his ears. He decided to enter, despite his demise. "So, uh..." He said as he stepped inside. "How long will we be.." He paused, once fully emerged in the odor, he snorted cobwebs catching onto him due to his height, "How long will be here for?" He didn't want to stay any longer than maybe a day, at max but he had a feeling Sailor had planned otherwise.

He sat in the far corner, away from everyone else and laid his head upon his paws. He was restless and curled into a ball. His tail curled around him, and he slept.

The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Sailor3

Sailor watched as Crisis was the first to stride in, she had halted, then moved in quickly. Sailor's ears twitched as Blayse refused to go in unless Sailor went in first. 'Is he afraid or something?' Sailor cocked his head. He sat, ignoring the male momentarily while he waited on the other members to approach, he could see numerous dots making their way quickly to him and the other half of the pack.

Sailor had heard the voices inside the 'den' he had heard that word thrown around a few times in there. Sailor gave a huff. It wasn't too long before the first of the "dots" approached. It was Melloette. Sailor gave a smile to the female. There was a loud noise, Sailor's ears perked, to see the door slamming against the side of the shack. It sent Melloette in with a yelp. His eyes then turned to see Xanthos coming into view. He immediately had questions.

"They're coming," he said quietly. "What is this thing? Is it safe?"

Sailor gave a nod to Xanthos, he looked at the shack over his shoulder and then turned back to the male.
"I believe the humans or 'Two-legs' call this a 'shack' it is one of their dens. But they abandoned this long ago. They wont come anywhere near it. For some reason. I've hid here before." He said cooly as he looked Xanthos over. The male wouldn't of liked the 'journey' that he had, Sailor gave a small low chuckle, and got to his paws, turning around, and heading on into the human den.

Once inside the male looked around to the members once his eyes had adjusted to the light. He jumped up on a wooden table, and swept most of the dust off with his tail and then laid down, His silvery eyes watching all the members. ***Blayse then decided to move in finally he watched the male briefly.

A sudden bang caught Sailor's attention, Light disappeared, The door had slammed shut. His ears flattened. He jumped down off the table and padded to the door, sniffing at it, then he jumped up on it. His fore-paws pushing against it trying to push it open. The door didn't budge. It had become jammed. He turned and faced the pack.
"Uhh...." he said quietly and looked around the small human den. His ears flicked and eyes adjusted further to the light.

He swished his tail and looked around for another way out....

The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Empty Re: The Abandoned Shack

Post by Luke Sun Nov 04, 2012 1:34 pm

Luke stared as Xanthos sprinted ahead of them, confused. Rhap was keeping a steady pace, so what was he doing?
As they continued walking the male soon realised his pack-mate was leading him on to some sort of human building. The scent of people was stale, so he wasn't too worried about them being somewhere near. Although, there was one particular scent which caught his attention; the anxious one of Melloette.
Approaching the shack Luke found that the entrance was closed sgyt. The male glanced blankly at Rhap, wondering what she thought of this. "They're in there all right," he muttered.

Blayse, now fully awake flinched at the sudden bang. He stood up, and frowned at Sailor he then turned to look at everyone else. He barked, knowing other wolves were outside. He stuck his nose close to the bottom of the door, barking abruptly. ''Hey! Bring food!'' Blayse tried to lighten the already uncomfortable mood.

Post by Crisis Sun Nov 04, 2012 5:00 pm

Crisis was startled at the bang of the door. "So we're trapped," she said, with an air of gloomyness. She pawed at one of the nearest windows, filled with grime. She wrinkled her nose at the sight of a dead mouse on the windowsill.
"Hello?" the Noble called to the wolves outside, her nose pressed against the glass. She didn't like Blayse's approach to the matter, and wanted to put it into her own hands. Or paws.
"Is there any way you can get us out?"
Oh, how much did the Epicyon sound like a child! A weak pup, stuck somewhere, somewhere it shouldn't have gone.........as that thought hung in her head, she grew silent.
Maybe we're not supposed to be in here. Why else would the humans avoid it?

Blayse sighed, not getting reaction he wanted. Sheesh, why was every SO serious, I mean it wasn't like we were going to die. He decided it'd be best to just return to his original spot, seeing as we weren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Post by Quill Sun Nov 04, 2012 6:31 pm

Quill yelped when the door slammed, as it nearly swiped over her paw. She breathed heavily, glancing around at the other members of the pack. Her heart pounded, and her anxiety began again. Other than her breathing, her anxiety wasn't noticeable. She knew Blayse would become annoyed or angry if she got too worked up.
The female crouched down onto the floor, her belly pressing the ground she perched on. She kept her head up and ears erect, though she fought to keep them from flattening. She knew they were trapped. And what made it worse, was that none of the wolves were exactly happy with each other at the moment.

At Blayse's whimper, Quill glanced over her shoulder at him. She stood up, but stayed where she was. She stared at him for a long moment before deciding to make her way over to him. When she finally managed to get past all the other members, she sat next to Blayse, averting her eyes away from him. Her eyes couldn't help but find their way to the door. All these questions started bumping into each other in her mind. What if we starve? No.. Sailor wouldn't let us... What if the humans find us? What if the others are found? What if we never get home? A lump formed in her throat.

Post by Crisis Sun Nov 04, 2012 9:58 pm

"Hello?" Crisis banged the glass, but only succeeded in hurting her nose. "I'm sure we can dig our way out," she suggested confidently, though small hints in her body language indicated she wasn't confident at all. "This floor," she stamped on the rotten boards, "Is old and on it's way out. It wouldn't be that difficult. What do you think, Sailor?"

Blayse woofed, laying his head down on his paws. "Are you...okay?" He looked over at her, ears perked. He wasn't sure how and when they'd get out, but at least we had company... Which is, come to to think of it, better than having no one. Despite everything, Blayse wasn't as much scared as he was hungry. He rolled over, onto his side looking at Crisis desperately trying. The sight sickened him.

He just wished to sleep, after all, all hopes of getting out relied on effort. He didn't currently have this.

The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Empty Re: The Abandoned Shack

Post by Melloette Mon Nov 05, 2012 1:12 am

The slim female nodded to the wolf who greeted her. Ten looked at the others. Her gaze switched to Sailor, he had been confirming to Xanthos that it was indeed safe in the strange den, but then the thing that she had entered through slammed shut, and Sailor became puzzled. Taking a step back, Melloette's ears flattened. What was happening??

Looking once again at their leader, the female nodded to him. "i - uh - wanted to tell you that, yes, I would like to be a part of the pack," she murmured, unsure of how to take in this place. This place is seriously weird she thought. Afraid of what was to come, Melloette kept her attention flitting, so that nothing could catch her off guard.

Quill nodded at Blayse's question, sighing heavily. She tried to relax her muscles and lay down, but her restlessness wouldn't let her. She shifted her weight from one hind leg to the other as she sat uncomfortably.

Xanthos nodded at Sailor. He believed the male if he said it was safe, though he wasn't so sure about going inside with it being a human den. It was strange that they didn't come to it any more though. Slowly he followed the leader inside, looking around wearily, almost expecting one of the two leg creatures to jump out at them, having expected them to hide there.

At the sudden bang, Xanthos let out a yep, rushing under the table with his tail between his legs. Peaking out with a shameful smile on his face, ears pressed against his head as he watched Sailor go over to investigate. Suddenly being trapped seemed to really worry all the females.

Walking over first to Melloette, he gave her a gentle nudge. "Um, I'm sure it will be ok," He smiled trying to give her a little comfort, despite not being sure of the place himself. Padding over to Crisis he gave her a gentle nudge too. "Sailor will get us out of here." He trusted their Lord. Looking back at Melloette he flicked his tail for her to come over too. The best thing for them to do was stay calm and take comfort in the presence of one another.

The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Sailor3

Sailor looked around at the wolves of his pack. His silver ears flicked, some of them were already freaking out. His ears then flattened at the sight of it. He looked at Crisis as she had looked out one of the windows. There was an idea.... Though her words caught him by surprise.

"Is old and on it's way out. It wouldn't be that difficult. What do you think, Sailor?"

Sailor tilted his head at the dark female. He cleared his throat and then spoke.
"I believe that might take too long. The window. That is a much better option." He said calmly, he figured if he kept calm so would the pack members. He glanced around at them again. There were still members outside. They needed to get in before the humans got here. "Crisis move away from the window, as should all of you. I am going to test my idea...." he said gruffly as he prepared himself for what he had in mind.

Sailor watched out the window and barked to Luke and Rhapsody.
"Move out the way you two!" he said sharply, poking his nose into the window. It didn't seem like it was going to be too hard. The shack was old, and the window, with enough force would probably just fall out with ease. Watching over the tree-line, Sailor squinted, seeing some dots making their way to the abandoned shack. His eyes widened. The humans, they were coming! And quickly!

"C'mon move out the way!" he barked a sense of urgency in his voice. He needed to break open the window to let the other two in and when the humans disappeared, to allow him and the pack members out.

Crisis backed away quickly, trying not to trip on the abandoned debris left on the floor. For the first time, she noticed a a thin female, asking to be a part of the pack.
The urgency in Sailor's voice made the dark Noble's head turn to one side, not seeing the danger as yet.

Quill took a step back. The urgency in Sailor's voice frightened her a bit, but she knew he was trying to keep the pack calm. Quill inched away from the wall as far as she could before her back hit the wall. When she was uncomfortably folded, she sat on her haunches once more, switching her gaze back and forth from Blayse to Sailor.

Blayse, flinched suddenly. He felt a sudden feeling of eerieness sweep past him. He lowered his ears, looking out towards Sailor, a sense of urgency in his gaze.

''Uhm, guys..'' Blayse looked over at the far end, close to where he was, only to see bones. Bones of some poor creature who never managed to escape this hole of everlasting darkness.

The Abandoned Shack - Page 2 Sailor3

Sailor looked as Crisis was quick to move. His ears flicked as he eyed the window. His ears flattened, he prepared for what he had planned ahead. Quill too had moved away from him. He gave a huff and took a deep breath, only to exhale as Blayse talked.

'Uhm, guys..'

Sailor's eyes followed Blayse's gaze, he squinted to see the faint remains of a skeleton. He looked to the pack. That wasn't going to happen to him nor the wolves of the pack, even if it was the last thing he was to do. Turning his attention back to the window. The silver male gave a growl. Leaning back the weight onto his hind paws, he prepared for a jump.

Closing his eyes, Sailor leapt forth with power exceeding from his hind legs, He gave a small "ahh" as he jumped, His head collided with the window. The force from the jump slammed him hard up against the old fragile window, The glass creaked and cracked, and the house gave a groan, and the window gave way to the force given by Sailor. The Male fell out the side of the window. He didnt think it would give way the first hit, but it had.

Sailor hadn't prepared for a landed and in repercussion landed in a heap on the ground with a loud audible thump. The male gave a groan and laid for a few minutes before unravelling himself, he laid on the ground for the moment his head spinning from the hit against the glass. His fore-paws, chest, head, and neck, were scratched from the pieces of glass that still stuck to the frame of the window.

He shook his head in an attempt to clear his vision. His tail moved slightly. There was mild pain all over from the landing but he could feel that nothing was broken, luckily. He would be bruised and sore for the next few days. But that was okay. The scratches would heal. He then sat up looking to Luke and Rhapsody.
"Come on you two, jump inside. Carefully though. At least now we have an exit and entrance..." His voice still had hints of dizziness in it.

Standing Sailor eyed the pair, waiting on them to get inside. They would have to be patient and wait the humans out. They were in for a rough few days, Sailor's gut had told him. That the minor bruises and scratches he received were not going to be the last of it....

Quill's eyes widened as she watched Sailor shatter the glass of the window. She flinched at the sound, but a relieved smile came over her face, and she wagged her little stub of a tail. "Thank goodness!" she barked, and waited patiently for the rest of the pack to enter the worn out shack.
